| outlook and outlook express _ and Adobe freezing on shut down When using Outlook you can only have one email account up at one time, right? What about with Express? Would it be okay, with no conflict, to configure one email account with Outlook, and another with outlook Express, so I can have my home and business email up at the same time, without having to log in and out back and forth? -------- Oh!!*** I hate Adobe. we have no choice but to use it, but it freezes your pc on shut down. I hate that. I read about a setting to stop that, but it only seemed to work for awhile. ***You would think Adobe would fix that problem!!???*** ----- Information and help on these 2 issues would be great! |

No need to use two E-mail clients for that. Almost any single E-mail client is able to do that. If you use Outlook, you can even set up a rule to check the to address on each message as it comes in, and move the messages to a different folder, depending on whether it was sent to your home or business address. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

| Re: outlook and outlook express _ and Adobe freezing on shut down Lanwench seemed to say what I had been told, but you areb saying 2 Outlook profiles can be up at the same time? (I have 2 Outlook profiles of whatever you call them.) I am constantly closing my business one to check my personal one, and back again. If you are saying we can have 2 open at the same time, please lay out the steps. That would be a great improvement, to have them both up at the same time. (I was thinking if I had one in Outlook, and one in express that might be a solution, but was afraid it migh tmess things up to configure 2 types) "Ken Blake, MVP" wrote: > On Sat, 23 Jun 2007 09:45:00 -0700, Coaster > <Coaster@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > > When using Outlook you can only have one email account up at one time, right? > > > Wrong. | Re: outlook and outlook express _ and Adobe freezing on shut down Ok it's the adobe acrobat I guess? it's the one that people sent as attachments in emails. every time you use this your pc freezes on shut down with a e.. something message. its a real drag to have to sit and close the stupid thing, or sometimes come back hours later to see it didnt shut down. I once found many posts about this in pc help groups. its a common occurence. one person had a setting soulution, but that only worked for awhile, i just think adobe should fix it the problem. to post more details I will have to find an email with pdf? and shut pc to get the little box that you manually have to click , then I will repost with the name of the the little scoundrel. | Re: outlook and outlook express _ and Adobe freezing on shut down http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/w...f42f7.3bbf7421 as you can see from adobe's own forum, this is the problem, and adobe just sucks. one of the posts seems to have a solution, but it is too much for me to go into without messing up the pc.. several of the posts say Why doesn't adobe fix it??? it s too bad its allowed on the inetrnet! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- de Siem - 5:12am Oct 10, 06 PST (#22 of 46) o get arund this issue I've create a little bat script that runs on logoff. The script is fairly simple: taskkill /IM AcroRD32.exe Copy and paste this into a notepad document and save it with a *.bat extension. Replace AcroRD32.exe with Acrobat.exe if you are using either Standard or Pro instead of the Reader. To add it to a user logoff you need to edit the group policy. Launch this via start>run and typing gpedit.msc more details here: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d....mspx?mfr=true "Rock" wrote: > "Coaster" <Coaster@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote > > <snip> > > > Oh!!*** I hate Adobe. we have no choice but to use it, but it freezes your > > pc on shut down. | Re: outlook and outlook express _ and Adobe freezing on shut down There should be some law that Adobe Reader or Acrobat can foist such junk onto the internet. They should be sued. If you turn your pc off, Adobe opens the world to all kinds of security and privacy breaches. What about coming back to work the next morning and seeing their STUPID little box that hijacked the Shut down. what would have stopped the janitors form accessing all your companies research, and/or your Clients' credit information. their piece of junk company should not be trusted. I am surprised they haven,t been arrested and or sued.!? If you don't like Acrobat Reader, uninstall it. Check out www.foxit.com - the Foxit reader is free and doesn't take over your computer. > "Rock" wrote: > >> "Coaster" <Coaster@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote >> >> <snip> >> >>> Oh!!*** I hate Adobe. we have no choice but to use it, but it >>> freezes your pc on shut down. No, I'm saying that you don't need separate profiles. All you need is one profile that accesses multiple E-mail accounts. > (I was thinking if I had one in Outlook, and one in express that might be a > solution, but was afraid it migh tmess things up to configure 2 types) > > "Ken Blake, MVP" wrote: > > > On Sat, 23 Jun 2007 09:45:00 -0700, Coaster > > <Coaster@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > > > > When using Outlook you can only have one email account up at one time, right? > > > > > > Wrong. | Re: outlook and outlook express _ and Adobe freezing on shut down i noticed you are wrong and rude in other posts too. how they let you in this, usually helpful and friendly Forum is a mystery.
