| Re: problem opening folder with video files This has to do with how Windows XP previews files when opened with Explorer. Suggestions: 1. Disable thumbnail view by going to Start/Run/CMD: regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll 2. And/or run this edit. This edit prevents high usage when browsing AVI files. Automated: AVI Search Remove (Line 74) http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Manual Edit: Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to the key below and delete the default data (right pane). Or: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shel lex\PropertyHandler Windows Stops Responding When You Click a Large AVI File in Windows Explorer" http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=822430 -- All the Best, Kelly (MS-MVP/DTS&XP) Taskbar Repair Tool Plus! http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm "sgr" <sgr@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F2C847DB-F36E-4447-BF26-D992567A1BBE@microsoft.com... > hello, > I've a problem when i open a folder that cointains video files, always > appears this message "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs > to > close....". > My computer is XP Home with SP2 and it've installed every windows updates. > I've scanned my computers with several antivirus and antispyware but they > didn't find anything. > The video software that I've installed is: BSplayer 1.00 RC1 and WMplayer > 11. > > In the event log: > > Event Type: Error > Event Source: Application Error > Event Category: None > Event ID: 1000 > Date: 6/22/2007 > Time: 7:21:31 PM > User: N/A > Computer: MYCOMPUTER > Description: > Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module > unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x020f9370. > > THANKS FOR ALL > > |
