Monitor network adapter

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way that I can monitor the network adapter?

Windows pops a message when the network cable is unplugged/plugged in and I
would like to log this somehow.

Does anybody know if this is possible?

Bilbo

Re: Monitor network adapter

Many NIC cards have within their Advanced Properties box a
option that reads something like "Log Link State Event" which
will write connectivity lost events to the System Event Log.

Click Start, Run (Type) DevMgmt.Msc [Enter]
Expand Network Adapters category
Double-Click the primary adapter.
Select Advanced (TAB)
Scroll down the Property items, looking for the Log option

Re: Monitor network adapter

Many thanks for the reply, sadly my NIC does not have this option.

However I have found that an error gets written to the event log if I
plug/unplug the network cable so this should be sufficient.
