Execution Folder and Program Location?

I'm trying to verify the program and folder for some of my shortcuts,
but cannot seem to locate the proper information. In the past, when I
wanted to see where a program was being executing from, I would right
click on the icon and properties and I could see the link for the
program. But no more - where can I review that information?

Thanks
Charlie

RE: Execution Folder and Program Location?

On the properties box (right click) of the icon you should see 3 tabs
General, Shortcut and Compatibility. The info you want is in the shortcut
tab. Do you have the tabs?

Re: Execution Folder and Program Location?

When I click on Start/All Programs and then right click on the short
cut of my choice, I see 2 tabs - General and Shortcut - there is no
Compatibility tab. On shortcut, the following is displayed:

Target Type: Application
Target: Blank
Target - Greyed out

Start In: Blank
Shortcut key: None
Run: Normal Window
Comment: Has some info in it, but nothing I am looking for.

Thanks
Charlie

No I am not multiposting! I have XP on my desktop and Vista on my
laptop and have the same situation on each. I used the same wording
in each as it "describes my situation" on each. I posted the messages
separately as they refer to two different OSs.

Ok, sorry Charlie. You didn't mention the OS here. At any rate, good luck.

Re: Execution Folder and Program Location?

Sounds like the "special shortcuts" created in MS Office. Look in the
"Program files\MS Office" folder.
