| Re: Dell Inspiron 9300 Newsgroup Location Start here: http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?...orums&cat=prod I don't think Dell has any forums dedicated to specific models, but you'll have to dive into their forums to find out. | Re: Dell Inspiron 9300 Newsgroup Location Thanks for your response. My computer battery died, (out of warranty) and from what I gathered from the 9300 manual there is more than one battery. The normal lithium and also a coin-sized battery and if so, I need to know which to replace. "Gary S. | Re: Dell Inspiron 9300 Newsgroup Location The coin-sized battery is simply to maintain basic CMOS settings in BIOS memory. Keeps it alive. That's not the main power source for the machine. It's the other, much larger battery that you want to replace. You only replace the coin-sized one if your CMOS settings get reset to default every time you boot up (and you get notified.) -- Gary S. | Re: Dell Inspiron 9300 Newsgroup Location Hi, My 2 cents, As Gary mentioned, Dell has no specific forum for spefici models, but the following one (TechTalk, Portable, General Hardware) will be a good start: http://www.dellcommunity.com/support...d=insp_general PS: You need to register before posting replies and new messages. I don't know your battery model, but you may want to check the following for battery recall: http://support.dell.com/support/batt...=19&l=en&s=dhs As far as I remember, recall models do not restrict to those within warranty (but don't take my words for it). So if your model is one of them, you may just get a new one :) Otherwise, you could also ask where to buy one and how to replace it. Good luck and hope this helps.
