| save file on shared drive, file name corrupted but not file Hello, I'm saving or copying files from an xp drive to a 95 drive and the file name gets changed to a garbled name, the file is still intact, just the name gets changed. Any ideas? |

If version A ( rather NOt " B" then disk = FAT only, which means that the filename format is very limited. BY "Garbled" do you mean it goes from abcdefghijklmn.txt to abcdef~.txt OR something TOTALLY different, like 1xddsdfdff.txt ? |

I'm just troubleshooting with you... ownership matter ? How about point of view : log onto XP box as harry Make a new file and save it to Win95 box . Make another in XP save local, THEN copy it to Win95 box. Does HE see same name on both ? If so, have Harry log onto Win95 box etc |
