Set it so that XP doesn't automatically restart on failure. Right click My Computer | Properties | Advanced tab | Startup and Recovery - Settings. Untic Automatically restart. Ok out. The next time it happens it should stop at a blue screen with an error message and stop code. Record that verbatim. Then start some research here: http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm Also do a Google Web and Groups search on the error. http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en&btnG=Google+Search Also you could post back to this thread with the error and a description of the computer system and hardware. -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell] |
