Run PartitionMagic from bootable media. Vista doesn't get a chance to
prevent it from running.

Vista has a problem with partitions created by PM, so it's not just an issue
of whether it will run under Vista. Don't use PM for Vista partitions until
they release a version that is Vista compatible.

With my ever increasing catalogue of Vista problems, this comes as no
surprise - though I don't fully understand why.

If anyone deserves a spanking, it's you. You should not be posting in
anything other than plain text. Not every news reader works with rich text

You need a new newsreader. Time marches on. Not many use a typewriter
anymore. It's time to spruce up the old newsgroups with some nice text,
pictures, etc.

Can't wait.

You apparently can't read or comprehend the simplest concepts. Perhaps
it's time to park your keyboard and find something else to do with your
free time.

Whether or not HTML is welcome is rather a moot point, since anyone
concerned with on line security reads news (and mail) in text-only.

Even for those of us who use a newsreader that *can* render html, many
of us choose to turn the facility off, because of the risk of the html
carrying malware.

Besides, most of us here are interested in content, not form. HTML
does nothing useful for me in Newsgroup postings.

My experience with Vista has been good, and btw, my catalog of problems with
XP is quite extensive.

Why would this surprise you? Vista is a new OS, PM is legacy software.
System level utilities are frequently in this kind of situation. They need
to be updated for the new OS.

mikeyhsd@comcast.net

---------------------------

The point being that we have made the choice. And that choice is text only
and my newsreader is so configured. As others have pointed out, HTML can
carry unwanted malware. It also uses vastly more server space, and many
servers insist on text only.

Your other mistake is to use your plain unmunged e-mail address in your
message. This betrays you as someone who is unfamiliar with even the basic
principles of computer security. I just hope you have a use for all that
viagra.
