I have Windows XP Home and I want to learn how to use remote
assistance, so that I can help another family member who also has
Windows XP Home. Do I or my family need any special software? Or
what do I need to know, so that I can use remote assistance?

Well by default, one that wants access had to be running the Pro
version. But I don't think this is true anymore. But I think you have to
download something from Microsoft to make it work.
