| USB Devices Not recognized (except camera) This is what happened to a friends computer. Her daughter had the camera connected and disconnected using "Safely remove hardware device". Ever since then the only USB device the computer will recognize is the camera. The previously working printer and flash drive show as "Unknown Device". She has tried to rectify this using system restore but no luck. Any suggestions wil be greatly appreciated. |

Make sure she is not using a USB hub. Look in the device manager. |

Not using USB hub. Have tried all ports. Device manager says controllers and hubs working. When we plug camera in device manager says "USB Mass Storage Device" but anything else comes up as "Unknown Device" |

And I believe they are listed under as Unknown Devices as well. Select properties and you should see how to reinstall the missing driver. -- Bill |
