?? WINXP Pro version 2002 SP 2 - no c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET Folde

Would there be any fairly "innocuous" method of adding .NET Framework 1.1 and
..NET Framework 2.0?

After I downloaded >NET Framework 1.1 Redistributable I attempted to install
it. It fails, and tells me if it continues to fail, then I should contact
Product Support Services. Which I guess is my next stop tomorrow morning.

Besides there being no Folder in the position I mentioned in the title of
this post, when I go to Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs - those two
items show up in the list of items, but when I highlight the Microsoft .NET
Framework 1.1, and then attempt to access the "Click here for support
information" link, there's no Folder in the location the Readme wishes to
access, to allow me to read the RepairRedist.htm file?

Any suggestions, besides "Get a rope!" I mean of course. ;0)

TIA

The .Net systems are normally part of the Windows Update. I have
successfully gotten all of them that way.

Re: ?? WINXP Pro version 2002 SP 2 - no c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET F

And since I'm no "stranger" to the Windows Updates - I have my WINXP Pro set
to download the Automatic Updates at 7 AM every day - how does that explain
how my Microsoft.Net folder got erased, or was never installed smlunatick?

To give you and others a little more background here, on or about 27MAR07 I
needed to go through a complete Format of my C drive, since my attempt on
uninstalling IE 7 went awry, and left me with the inability to Logon to my
PC. The pressing of the power button from a Shutdown state, omly got me as
far as the WIndows XP "initializing" screen. The screen where the light-blue
indicator scrolls from left to right below the Windows XP logo I mean. And I
was then having a Restart occur when the Welcome screen normally occurs right
after that.

So I then finally realized that my Operating System had been damaged, and I
now realize that I should have done a System Restore to get things back to
where they should have been.

So I went through a Format of that partition on my hard drive, during the
installation of a "fresh" WINXP Pro OS.

Which is where I think I'm headed once again shortly.

Unless someone can identify a slightly less time-consuming solution?

Re: ?? WINXP Pro version 2002 SP 2 - no c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET F

Well just to provide "closure" to this thread...

I was able to get access once again to the Microsoft.NET folder after going
through with the Format, and the re-installing WINXP Pro.

So now I have been able to re-install all of my apps, and the PC is running
like a champ - now that I discovered I had 4.7GB of unallocated space on my
hard drive.

My desire for a somewhat larger Pagefile has been now satisfied. ;0)

I appreciate it if my Pagefile have their own partition to reside on - all
by their lonesome. In that way they don't even get near to be fragmented.
