| Start Menu Changed After Runnig Update I have a seldom used machine with XP Home SP2 installed. It had been several months since I ran MS Update. After I ran it last night for a complete update, Start/Turn Off Computer produced a window with a drop down list for choice of action instead of the little window showing the three icons Standby, Turn Off and Restart. Likewise, upon starting, I got a little window showing 'loading your personal settings' rather that the text line on a blue background saying 'loading your personal settings.' I don't know if the update run caused it or I messed up a setting somewhere. Can someone help me get the old way, just the three icons, back. Thank you. |

| RE: Start Menu Changed After Runnig Update Hi, I'm using Win XP Pro SP2 but I think the following may work: - Go to Start -> Control Panel. - Select User Accounts (click User Accounts if it appears again) - A window shows up - Select "Change the way users log on or off" Cheers, "Jack Gillis" wrote: > I have a seldom used machine with XP Home SP2 installed.
