Macromedia Flash 8

My operating system is XP Pro SP2

-- Dear members
I am practising and learning about Macromedia Flash 8, so far I am doing
alright except for the following: I start by drawing an image then go to
modify and convert it to a symbol, choose a name and button then go to window
and choose library, after all these steps taken, I have to delete the image
as to create a new one on the stage, I have tried to delete it but no
response it will not be deleted.

To do the deletion by clicking the button (delete layer) which looks like a
Dustin bin.

My enquiry is how to delete an image fro the stage after reserving it in the
library?

This is not a Windows issue. Go to the Macromedia Flash website and look
for Knowledge Base, user forums, newsgroups, etc.
