| Word attachments taking a LONG time to open from Outlook We've got a user that regularly gets a word doc from his clients. when he tries to open the attachment, it can take literally a minute, up to a minute and a half before the file opens, and we're only talking a single page of text. When he forwards the email to me, I can open it almost instantly. As far as software goes, we're all on Office 2003 Small Business (using cached exchange mode), Win XP with all updates, and AVG Enterprise 7.x antivirus. The systems are Dell Optiplex 745's with Core 2 chips and at least 1Gb of RAM. For all intents and purposes, this user shouldn't be having any issues with opening the files. Is there some way to find out what attachments take so long to open? |

Make sure outlook is closed, go to user's own local outlook folder...- >document and settings\username\microsoft\outlook\---->find a file called outlook.srs(might be a hidden file) delete it and reopen outlook. See if it works! Thanks. Ben |
