error: internet explorer has encountered an error and needs to clo

have xp media center edition 2005, started getting this error alot since
updating to explorer 7. 3 total that give same error. 1-Faulting
application navsetup.exe, version 14.2.0.29, faulting module unknown, version
0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0178640e. 2-Faulting application explorer.exe,
version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault
address 0x00d0640e. 3-Faulting application iexplore.exe, version
7.0.6000.16414, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address

It would seem that Norton AV is the source of navsetup.exe
explorer.exe is well explorer, and iexplorer (ver 7) is IE

It looks like Norton is the source of the problem.
There may be updates needed.

Revert to IE6. Only way to go. I hate IE7.

Hello,

Try running IE7 without add-ons

Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools >
Internet Explorer 7 (No Add-ons) to start without any add-ons. Close the
browser and see whether the problem occurs again.

If the problem does not occur again, start IE7, go to Tools > Manage Add-ons
and disable all the add-ons and enable them one by one till the problem
appears and you get the culprit.
