Newly formatted drive but XP thinks Windows already installed

Hi

I have built a new PC putting an 80gig HDD in which is used but known tobe
working fine (not very old). During installation od XP I chose to delete to
existing partion, then create a new one, then format that drive (full, not
quick format).

During the first restart on the installation of XP a note popped up telling
me there is already a folder named \Windows do I want to over-write it -
Isaid yes, but now it's running I am being asked which o/s I want to boot -
there is only the one!!!!

Where is it seeing another o/s on a ntfs formatted disk of just one
partition?

Ron

It doesn't sound like the partition actually got deleted. Check out

I'm sure that he doesn't have a time machine to go back in time to find out
what would have happened had he said no. Dumb question!
