XP will not warm boot - Technology Questions

XP will not warm boot

When I need to reboot or start XP it must be a hard reboot if I reset
or warm boot XP hangs between the Windows splash screen and the logon
screen. If I hard boot (cold boot) there is no problem the, boot
completes. This started happening after installation of a 120GB SATA
HD. Does anyone have a reason why or how to rectify this problem?
