| Lost Shut Down, Log Off , Restart Buttons Hi, My Shut Down, Log Off , Restart Buttons have disappeared and I now have a box with a drop down menu to choose from. How do I get the XP buttons back? Many thanks |

| Re: Lost Shut Down, Log Off , Restart Buttons The Remove and prevent access to the Shut Down command Policy or NoClose set to 1 in the registry disables Shut Down in Task Manager, Start menu and Windows Security dialog. On the Task Manager Menu Bar, there are: File, Options, View, Shut Down and Help. The Shut Down menu contains: * Stand By * Hibernate * Turn Off * Restart * Log Off (User Name) * Switch User Some of the above items may be unavailable (grayed out) depending on Group Policies, et cetera. For example. NoClose removes access to Stand By, Hibernate, Turn Off, Restart and Log Off (User Name) from the Shut Down menu in Task Manager, but leaves the menu.
