| Failed\Uninstalling Windows Updates Since I recently started using Autopatcher and did a Full Install, with all the relevant updates, I noticed in Belarc that it reports some of the Windows Updates as having been failed to be applied properly. Does anyone know, is this just an issue with Belarc? I'm unsure how to otherwise check the success or validity of the applied updates otherwise. If this is a true situation, I looked at uninstalling the relevant updates from their folders in C:\Windows, but noticed it advised me that all the applications I'd installed since may become unworkable. Is that a real risk. Is there a better way to go about it? Oh, whilst I've got your attention (ahem!): I can no longer double-click to highlight a complete line of text that has non-text symbols in it (ie: in Notepad double-clicking: COPY "C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB884883$\explorer.exe " "c:\windows\system32\dllcache\explorer.exe" captures just: "C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB884883 and at the same time I've noticed that added to the bottom of my right-click menu in Notepad are the lines "Right to left reading order, Show unicode control characters and Insert unicode control character." Has anyone else seen this? I've no idea which installation caused this - nor how else to find out. I'd love to be able to return to the default actions and would appreciate any help on either topic. Thank you. |
