A few weeks ago I started getting a svchost.exe error "The instruction
0X7C9105F8 referenced memory at 0X00000010. The memory could not be read.
Along with another pop-up about a Generic Host Process for Win32 error. My
sound also quit working. I installed the hotpack fix KB927891 which was
suppose to fix these error/problems. This worked for a few times until I
tried to fix my sound issues. I reloaded the Sound Balster Audigy 2 ZS
software and drivers. Afterwards my svchost.exe error and Generic Host
Process error started up again. I have followed several suggestions found on
the Windows XP forums about turning off Automatic Upates for Windows and
nothing seems to work. I would appreciate any help to resolve these issues
as they are causing me to not be able to complete so projects I have in the
works.

PS - I have also used "RegCure" to check and clean the registry.

Sorry I don't have a solution for you, but using a registry cleaner, of any
kind is liable to create more problems than it fixes. Avoid them. If you
have regularly been using one, that could be one possible cause for the
problems you're now experiencing.

> I have used a registry cleaner from time to time, but not on a regular basis. I think even PC World recommends using one from time to time. Any way, the issue a[ppears to be wide spread from reading all the threads on here that reference svchost.exe errors. One appeared to work until I reloaded my soundcard drivers and low and behold it came back again. Has anyone else experienced anythng similar and is there a fix?
