Hibernate mode

Windows XP Pro. Service Pack 2 automatically goes to Hibernate mode
everytime it boots up. What could be the problem?

Re: Hibernate mode

Are you sure it is hibernating?

Can you start it in safe mode (F8 on startup). Delete the latest MS updates
if they coincide with the problem. Also check the power settings and change
them if you need to via safe mode > control panel.

Is it a laptop? If it is then the battery might be dead. Check that. Make
sure the power lead is plugged in correctly and working. Take the battery
out and plug the power lead in and see if this works.

Re: Hibernate mode

It is a PC. When enter F8, there's no "Safe Mode" option. It has only 2
options. "Continue to boot..." and "Delete recovery....".
I can't do anything at all. It goes to "Hibernate" mode immediately after
Windows bootup. I don't even have the chance goto "Control Panel".

Re: Hibernate mode

F8 or Delete or F2, sometimes F1 Sometimes F10. Try them all.
