Lost Profile

I logged in to the domain but my profile did not load. A completely new one
was greated using my existing username and password. I have had to rebuild my
profile which now works OK.
Does anyone know what happened, whay and what I can do if it happens again

Re: Lost Profile

GSPOTTS,

Are you talking about a corrupt profile that was re-created on the server?

Did it create a local temp profile when you logged in?

More info required

Re: Lost Profile

No the server was totally unaffected. A completly new profile was created on
the PC. e.g where before there was a profile called gspotts.mydomain.com a
new profile called gspotts was created.
If you did ctrl + alt + del and brought up the windows security box it
showed you as logged in as mydomain\gspotts

Re: Lost Profile

GSPOTTS,

I take it you are using a roaming profile. If not & you logged into another
machine on the network then this would be a probable cause

Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off. invader@nospamforme.com Windows Vista 1 11-01-2007 10:30 AM
