Single-click acts like double-click

I've recently noticed that when I single click on files & icons, etc to
select them, it executes them. For instance, when I select a folder by
single-clicking on it in Explorer to move it, it opens. Another example is
when I select a program shortcut on the desktop by single-clicking it, the
program is launched.

I've checked the mouse settings and double-click is required to execute. So,
what's going on? Thanks. BTW, I'm running XP Pro SP2 w/ a Dell bluetooth
mouse.

Maybe it is stuck. Select single click and apply. Then back to double
click and then ok.

Checked the mouse settings where? Open Windows Explorer or My Computer |
Tools | Folder Options. Select "Double click to open an item.". Ok out.

That's exactly where I checked.

I guess it may be the mouse going bad. Will try a different mouse.
