| mail icon disappeared in Control Panel Hi All, My mail icon disappeared in the Control Panel and I don't know how to get it back. I uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2007 and that didn't help. I cannot change my e-mail settings via Outlook - it says to go into the control panel, which isn't there. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! |

| Re: mail icon disappeared in Control Panel Control Panel doesn't contain a Mail icon by default. What says "go into the control panel"? What does it say once you open Control Panel? Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Set Program Access and Defaults, maybe? | Re: mail icon disappeared in Control Panel XP does not have a Mail icon in the Control Panel unless you have some version of Outlook. Mlcfg32.Cpl = Mail and Fax or Microsoft Mail Configuration Library from Outlook. Do a Search on your machine for Mlcfg32.Cpl, when/if located double click Mlcfg32.Cpl and see if it opens. Apparently, Mlcfg32.Cpl for Outlook 2000 is located here. c:\programfiles\commonfiles\system\mapi\1033\nt\ml cfg32.cpl -- Hope this helps. Let us know. | Re: mail icon disappeared in Control Panel Hi All, I have Outlook 2007. I figured out what the problem is .. I am using XP 64 bit edition and it was in the x86 Control Panel subfolder. I hadn't even thought to look there before. Thanks!
