| Re: sfc /scannow Thanks for the info, Wesley - much appreciated. :) I've tried to follow your instructions, but I'm tired and might have missed something. I loaded this PC with my original XP Home stup disc, then SP1 disk and then my SP2 disc. I'm afraid that I'm still getting the message "Insert your Windows XP Pofessional service Pack 2 CD now" message when I run sfc /scannow. :( I'll try again tomorrow, but if you have any other tips, please let me know. Thank you for helping. Wesley hasn't been active here in this newsgroup in quite a while. Please don't reply to such ancient threads, but start a new one when necessary. Also note that this isn't a web-based forum; it's a newsgroup. The reason you're having such problems is that you are using the awful web interface to participate in this newsgroup--it's the slowest, clunkiest, most error-prone method of using the newsgroups there is. Do yourself a favor and switch to a newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes with Windows XP, or Windows Mail, which comes with Vista.
