| XP Update via Internet Explorer While visiting my brother-in-law recently he asked me why he couldn't get his XP updates using Interne tExplorer V7. When we connected to the MS update site, we received the message "Files required to use Windows Update are no longer registered or installed on your computer. Register or reinstall the files for me now." We did .. and were then in a continual loop: download, install, register back to the same message over and over. The version of IEX he is using is 7.0.5730.11. Any ideas on how he should proceed? BTW, we were logged on as "Administrators" with full system priviledges. Thanks in advance. Don |
