Question New and confused, I think!

I am going to acquire a used Fujitsu Stylistic 3500. It does not have an OS on the HD. It originally had a COA for Windows 2000. There are no install or any software CD's with it.

After reading the FAQ's I think I know what to do, but want to be sure.

It appears that there are no actual separate OS CD's for the tablets, but rather the OS is part of, or should i say, an option under the install of the regular OS.

I have OS installation CD's for Win2000 and XP.

So, can I assume that if I use either, I will be able to install a tablet OS on the 3500 from the general OS installation CD?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Fujitsu 3500 is a pen tablet

Welcome to the forums !

The pen tablet manufactured by Fujitsu uses a third party software for handwriting. The OS installed by the factory would be either Windows 98SE or Windows 2000 Professional. Both OS versions are older technologies than the Windows XP Tablet PC Edition installed on Tablet PCs.

Hopefully, you'll see some of the distinctions between pen tablets and Tablet PCs is the OS, handwriting and speech recognition built into the OS, and the WiFi technologies included with the hardware.

Good luck with your Fujitsu 3500 and I hope you have a great time using your pen tablet.

Can't Figure out How to Boot Stylistic 3500

I have a Stylistic 3500 as well, but I cannot figure out how to boot from a floppy or USB CD. I changed the bios, butr no luck yet.

Is there something I am missing. I want to reinstall the OS (win 2K).

Thank you.

I have sold my ST3500 already and went for M1300.......

ok, abit info I found with ST3500

-XP with SP1 does work, but a part of the pen drv refuse to work (penmon.exe), seems it uses some routine that crashes winXP SP2, it won't harm if you do not rotate screen, as penmon.exe check the screen rotate by the ATI driver app, the digitizer are at old position.

-no, I can't get it boot var USB too, what I did was remove the HDD and load what ever I need by putting it back to my desktop with a 2.5' IDE to normal IDE connector, format x: /s and load the i386 dir to the HDD, put it back to ST3500, and x:/i386/winnt.exe to setup.

-XPTablet version do work on ST3500 too, it is just too slow.......... and SP2(2005) is needed anyway, so screen rotate are not an option...and I think a pen pc is not an good option for XPTablet too, a wacom pen is needed as you will need to put your hand on the screen to write, while pen pc can't.
