| External mouse on TC4400 I want to use an external mouse with my tablett PC. I have tried a standard USB connected and an HP bluetooth PC card. Both install fine and show up in the HID section of devices (and reported as working OK) but neither show up under the mouse section - just the synaptics mouse. Also with the bluetooth mouse the synaptics utility shows there is a bluetooth device. BUT neither type of mouse actually works - all other mice (touch, nipple and tablet) are active. Have re-installed USB drivers and synaptics drivers. HP support simply suggest a full re-install which seems a bit much just for a mouse - any clues? Also would like to hear if someone has this working on an HP tablet? as I would hate to re-install and then find it still does not work!!!! |

| Re: External mouse on TC4400 I see Hilton and a few others tried to help you by suggesting to try another usb port and the drivers. However, maybe there is a bios conflict. Go into the bios and reset the defaults. See if this changes the behavior. Like Hilton, I am surprised the mouse doesn't work. Let me know.

| Re: External mouse on TC4400 I am also surprised the mouse does not work. I have tried resetting the bios to defaults but no joy. You just get 'new hardware found'.... Hardware is ready to use (or something) when plugging in a USB mouse. As before shows up in the HID section but not in mice under device manager. The mosue is most definately not ready!!! Appreciate your help - I guess the next step is to do a full restore and hope that it will work. |
