HELP! TC1000 stuck in boot up loop!

Well, HP support no use.

My T1000 crashed today (well, XP did I should say). So as normal when this happens (rarely) I simply switched off and rebooted. Except after the "Tablet XP Edition" screenc comes up the machine resets and starts the boot up process once again.

After the crash i noticed that the disk scan went about its business and i did notice it deleted several "index" files. Hardware wise all seems well and I've been through the reset memory crap from HP.

Is Xp corrupt? Any suggestions as to what to try? I am keen not to have to restore everything.

TIA.

RE: HELP! TC1000 stuck in boot up loop!

I had that happen to me as well. Fortunately I was able to boot from an XP CD and do a repair. I still occassionally get the random checkdisk and repair, but so far I think I'm okay.

Corrupt MBR = TC1000 stuck in boot up loop!

I Had the same problem last year. Turns out it was a corrupted MBR (Master Boot Record). I was able to repair the MBR with tools downloadable from the net and posted the links here. Couldn't easily find my original post (it was in this newsgroup) but will search again to see if I can repost.

happened to me too!

Problem started when I loaded a video Codec that was not windows
certified. I gave it the3 finger salute until It stopped and.I could
get the Bios screen. At that point I kept charging settings until I
could start in safe mode. delete the Nasty software and I was happy
once more.
