| lost pressure on ACER tablet (some apps) Heya, I'm asking this for a client who uses our painting software (PD Particles, PD Pro) and also Photoshop and Alias Sketch (not sure which versions of the latter two). He's using an ACER tablet PC and recently lost pressure data recognition, i.e. when using Photoshop it fails to change brush size based on pressure applied. Dito for Project Dogwaffle. The only application that still seems to work with regards to pen pressure is Alias Sketch. PD uses VBtablet which as far as I know sits on top of Wintab. I suspect Photoshop also uses Wintab. There's a thought that perhaps something hapened that messed up the Wintab system, i.e. the dll or some resource files (are there any?) So I have a few questions and was wondering if anyone here knows: 1) does Alias Sketch work without Wintab32.dll? 2) who owns/delivers/makes Wintab32.dll, is it a Microsoft thing or a Wacom thing? 3) is there a place that offers wintab32.dll for downloading, legit and safely? 4) is there a way to reset the tablet pressure environment of an ACER tablet PC, perhaps by way of re-installing something related to it (presumably coming from Wacom). 5) Anyone have any other ideas of what to try and do in order to gain back the pressure recognition especially in Photoshop? 6) is Wintab32.dll the same for all versions of Windows XP, i.e. for Home edition, Pro, Media edition and tabletPC edition? 7) what's the mother-of-all-sources of information about Wintab32 as it pertains to tabet PCs? -Philip thebest3d.com |
