If the machine is still under warranty (normally 3 years, certain entry level models 2 years only) why not have the machine serviced by HP? You may check warranty here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...ntyLookup.jsp? > is it possible to buy parts for it? Yes, to a certain extent. > does anybody or anywhere sell them? HP. Pls see their Parts Store: http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/ Another source might be eBay. There are "ruins" sold for parts offered from time to time. Rainald |

You don't have a problem and are just thinking in terms of "in case ...." ?? >> If the machine is still under warranty (normally 3 years, certain >> entry level models 2 years only) why not have the machine serviced >> by HP? > > after 3 years. Or if I buy it on ebay the warranty if there is one > may expire after a year. No. Warranty does not depend on where and from whom you buy a HP/COMPAQ device. It's just model specific. If you do not already have a tc1100 and are looking to buy one on eBay (the series has been discontinued by HP app. a year ago, so there is no new ones any more): Prior to buying ask the seller for the part-number and the serial number. Then go to the site quoted in my last posting and enter the data there. So you'll find out about the rest of warranty. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...ntyLookup.jsp? Rainald |
