M400 Calibration

I was drawing some pictures today with Alias Sketchpad, and my pen
calibration was pretty far off. I calibrated the screen several times
with the thing that just checks the 4 corners, but it continued to be
off.

Is there a stronger calibration program out there?

Thanks,

Ron Jeffries

Re: M400 Calibration

Guessing you're using Windows XP SP2, and that's all there is, Ron.

Re: M400 Calibration

Yes there is a better calibration but it's only available to the OEM. See my
notes on this here:

http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/show...7753#post27753

If your linearity data is not present in the registry, your digitizer could
be way off for good until you can get that OEM-specific data back in.
Perhaps removing the digitizer device from the device manager and letting it
reinstall the driver would help? I'm not sure on that particular model, but
for Gateway, there is a m280screenreg.exe that can add this data to the
registry.

Thanks, Josh ... and Chris. This is somewhat irritating ... I guess
I'll try to get a conversation started with Toshiba ...

Re: M400 Calibration

maybe it is no the most elegant way to do but try to calibrate your digitizer
whit a little offset of the calibration points to compensate.

Yes, I was trying that ... it's surprisingly hard, and I think the
thing is non-linear, further out in the middle than at the edges, etc.

Somewhat irritating, actually ...

Re: M400 Calibration

Sometimes internal noise or a leak of RF can distortion the calibration, may
be a visit to the service support can fix this if you have warranty you
should use it on this issue

True, except for loss of computer ... that would be bad. ;->

RE: M400 Calibration

I am having the same problem with my IBM X41. The calibration seems to get
worse the farther right I go on the screen.
