That screen res has been available from Toshiba for a while in the M400. Looking forward to your further review as I am shopping for a laptop for my son who will need a little power for his audio engineering program he's in. |

| Re: Lenovo Announces ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC Toshiba has had the high resolution since early on, but it's only recently that other companies are starting to believe that there's a demand for it. The Lenovo doesn't show any of the blurriness that I've seen on some models, which is good news to me. -- Terri Stratton Microsoft Featured Community http://thetabletpc.net Windows MVP - Tablet PC http://writepc.com - a site for UMPCs "Mike H" <mike8675309******.com> wrote in message news:1163536261.263086.122900@m73g2000cwd.googlegr oups.com... > > terri wrote: >> There will be 2 models available, one with an SXGA+ screen and a >> resolution >> of 1400x1050 and a touch model with a 1024x768 res and an available >> indoor/outdoor screen. >> >> I have full specs and photos as well as a review on my site. >> > > Looks like a nice machine though it seems they are just now catching up > with Toshiba. | Re: Lenovo Announces ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC There is also a 7200 rpm harddisk (100GB) available for it - as well as three 5400 rpm. For someone that doesn't need to have the optimum in battery performance, a faster drive is well worth the extra cost. I went with a 7200rpm drive in my M400 after supporting many folks over time that have fast processors but their computers seem so slow. Swap out the hard drive for something faster and their machines achieve a zippy nature. Of course laptops that easily support 4gig of memory help that as well. As far as screen resolution, the biggest impact the screen resolution has is on the ink. The higher screen rez means a higher rez digitizer which allows more notes to fit on a screen and look decent. But there are always going to be folks that prefer to see things at 800 x 600 due to vision issues. The offices I've worked in have always had folks that prefer to see their 17 and 19" LCD screen set to 800x600, regardless of the native resolution of the panel. These folks don't even notice the lack of crispness in the screen images. |

I agree, and I've pepped up my older machines (like the 600Mhz Transnote* I'm writing this on) with faster drives, but note that you also have to make sure the faster drive has enough cache. epbrown * which has an SVGA display, btw ;) -- "Everybody wants a normal life and a cool car; most people will settle for the car." | Re: Lenovo Announces ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC With the 2.5" form factor, or with the 1.8" form factor, like the X-41 Tablet PC? I am trying to get a disk larger than 60 GB for my X-41 Tablet PC (1.8" PATA), and I don't know where to get it. "Lawrence E.
