| Thoughts on this auction Hi, Have seen this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-IN-S...QQcmdZViewItem Seems like a good deal and as far as i can see checks out ok? Looking through the feedback it seems he has sold them before ok to real ebay accounts. Would really appreciate a 2nd opinion though, I had my ebay account stolen not so long ago so a little cautious! Thanks in advance, Damo |

| Re: Thoughts on this auction Not sure where you are on the planet, but here in North Amercica, at the current exchange rate, it is not a great deal at all. I would pass and buy a current new model. My 2 cents. A lot of laptops are now sold like this, the moment they go out of date, and they represent the best value for money in laptops. I always buy 1 year old, unopened, HP/Compaq/Dell corporate quality laptops, not the junk in the high street shops. A good outlet is www.computerbargains.co.uk e.g. http://www.computerbargains.co.uk/sh...me.php?cat=251 I would google for a "THINKPAD X41 review" and see if you can work out how much this model cost new. If it is the top spec one it would have been close to double the Ebay price, and that is a snip. Otherwise, it may be overpriced. Make sure you get a UK keyboard (the pound character etc) if possible. Remember that tablets (computers running Windows XP Tablet Edition) are UNsupported except by the vendor, and this "vendor" is not going to give you any support. IBM might though - if the warranty is genuine. A lot of people get their fingers burnt in this way with tablets - Micro$oft don't sell the installation CDs alone so make sure you get either recovery CDs, or there is a recovery partition so you can make your own CDs from it. |

| Re: Thoughts on this auction I absolutely love my x41. I have the ram bumped up, but other than the lack of Aero, it's been running Vista since the early betas. Also has Office 2007 running. For a convertible Tablet, it's the best I've used. The weight is very similar to a slate. I love a 12" screen. There just isn't enough real estate on a 10" for me. -- Terri Stratton Microsoft Featured Community http://thetabletpc.net Windows MVP - Tablet PC http://writepc.com - a site for UMPCs "Peter" <peter@peter2-o-0-o.co.uk> wrote in message news:oe0uk29egpf23u203n0t2pr60b1fmcl7mc@4ax.com... > > "damo" <damian.soong******.com> wrote: > >>Hi, >> >>Have seen this: >> >>http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-IN-S...QQcmdZViewItem >> >>Seems like a good deal and as far as i can see checks out ok?
