| Learning to write in manuscript and cursive with a Tablet PC My son is who is in pre-K is starting to learn to write. It's decidedly low tech and the way millions have learned to write letters. On lined paper with dotted letters you then trace over. He's already masterd how to write many of these letters "incorrectly' according to handwriting instructions. With computing power and tools such as the Tablet PC isn't there a better way? Does anyone know of a software application for the Tablet PC that can help kids learn to write correctly? |

| Re: Learning to write in manuscript and cursive with a Tablet PC Here's some links to educational information, Thomas: http://www.microsoft.com/education/TabletPC.mspx What you're really seeking is specific programming to help children learn to write correctly. The Tablet PC itself won't do that because the handwriting we enter is compared to hundreds of thousands of "samples" to generate the best-guess response. Take a close look at not only the case studies section at the above URL, but the links under Educational Programs in the left pane. -- Chris H. | Re: Learning to write in manuscript and cursive with a Tablet PC One of the tools that I like a bit is here - Writing Practice Tool for Tablet PC Help your children practice their writing skills by using the Writing Practice Tool for Tablet PC. Youngsters can practice writing words and then watch as the letters animate to show a picture of the word. Teachers or parents can create words and pictures to make the game even more challenging. Although it probably won't do as much as some other programs, it's a free PowerToy and the way it morphs letters into a picture of the item written makes it fun for kids. -- Terri Stratton Microsoft Featured Community http://thetabletpc.net Windows MVP - Tablet PC http://writepc.com - a site for UMPCs "Thomas" <Thomas@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:749C0F46-2CDE-4878-9BC7-F8A3DE3E1800@microsoft.com... > My son is who is in pre-K is starting to learn to write.
