| Fujitsu T4010 I'm using a convertable tablet PC and found that vista cannot rotate the display automatically, i.e. from primary landscape to primary portrait and vice versa. i can only use the function that rotate the screen clockwise or counterclockwise to restore original oriention but it wastes a little bit time and not convenience to use. Will this function available in the final release? I also found that the button on the tablet side cannot function except the power button, will vista has functions for those buttons which can be customized? The build-in card reader (for SD / MS-pro) cannot function unless i install the driver from the dirver disc. Will vista has such driver as default? Thanks! |

| Re: Fujitsu T4010 Drivers will depend on OEM support for their functionality in Vista, so at this point I would expect things to be "broken" in Vista. We'll have to wait and see whether Vista is supported on the model you have, but that's a manufacturer's determination. -- Chris H. | Re: Fujitsu T4010 The general rule OEMs (and other hardware companies which furnish drivers) is to wait until the operating system software is locked down - i.e., no changes to the code - so they have something other than a moving target before they expend funds to write their drivers. -- Chris H. | Re: Fujitsu T4010 That would be RC. The Windows driver model is final. OEM's that are still holding out now are doing so likely because they aren't getting enough pressure from the users. If they never get that pressure, and they don't plan on selling the hardware with Vista machines, they'll never write the Vista drivers for it. So therefore, people that want Vista drivers for a particular piece of hardware should not sit idle waiting for it to come. They should be nagging the OEM to create them. All of the major component makers have Vista WDDM drivers or Vista-compatible XP drivers. Just a few of the specialty items like tablet hardware buttons seem to be getting ignored. -- Josh Einstein / Tablet PC MVP Einstein Technologies, LLC ----------------------------------------------------- Tablet Enhancements for Outlook 3.0 Now Available Unleash the potential of Outlook on your Tablet PC, Origami, or UMPC.
