| Dozens of Corrupt Files and No ChkDsk I'm in charge of 180 M280E tablets. I'm seeing a significant number of corrupt files especially with Word and OneNote. I try Chkdsk as well as Norton SystemWorks. Both ChckDsk and NDD32 do not launch on a reboot. I've read the other ChkDsk articles and have tried GWScan, Bart PE, Safe Mode, and Diagnostice Mode. Norton Disk Doctor32 tells me there are file system errors, but will not run when the system is rebooted. Launching System Recovery is a temporary fix. Is there any way to force a chkdsk? I was able to get it to launch once on a new M280E, but could not replicate it on another tablet nor do it again on that computer. My other question is, with ChkDsk gone haywire will XP loose its "self-healing" properties? We are one month into a 4-year service contract. Is there anyway to stem the flood of corrupt files? I have to deal with plenty of issues with the M280Es, but this one ticks me off the most. Any help is appreciated. technodite |

| Re: Dozens of Corrupt Files and No ChkDsk Have you contacted Gateway about this? If you have, what's been the results? This doesn't sound like something that's going to be easily fixed. I've forwarded your post on to someone I know at Gateway who can look into it better. My first inclination is to say "Norton !" but let's see what Gateway has to say. -- Terri Stratton Microsoft Featured Community http://thetabletpc.net Windows MVP - Tablet PC http://writepc.com - a site for UMPCs ----- Original Message ----- "technodite" <technodite@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4A219ACE-D497-47D6-954D-379BEA7E2C69@microsoft.com... > I'm in charge of 180 M280E tablets. | Re: Dozens of Corrupt Files and No ChkDsk The only Gateway reps I talk to are the customer service operators. They only handle computers on a case by case basis. Only after talking to several did one mention GWScan. The "canned" response I get is for them to send out a new hard drive. "terri" wrote: > Have you contacted Gateway about this?
