Vista on Motion M1400 or LE1600?

Has anyone successfully loaded Vista onto one of these Motion M1400 or
LE1600 systems?

If not -- what are the opinions?

Thanks! ~ jfc.

Re: Vista on Motion M1400 or LE1600?

Motion has information about upgrade installs for the LE1600 at
http://www.motioncomputing.com/vistasupport/index.asp. However, a Vista
clean install produces a computer that runs better in many respects. If you
want to try that, there is a description of a clean install on a LS800,
which is pretty similar to an LE1600, at
http://mobilepcwiki.com/mpc/index.ph..._Install_Notes.

In the clean install a few things don't work quite properly, but it is not
clear whether they work properly after an upgrade install either.

Motion doesn't support M1400 Vista upgrades, but it can be done as described
at
http://mobilepcwiki.com/mpc/index.ph...allation_Notes.

Several people that I know have done so successfully and are pleased with
the results. You may have some issues with buttons though.

Re: Vista on Motion M1400 or LE1600?

My Motion 1300 auto-installed every single driver installing Vista,
including finding Motion authored button drivers that are configured using
Tablet PC control panel button settings. Actually, far better functions
because each button is completely customizable and has two levels each press
length to program. Link one to Mobility Center panel for virtually same as
Dashboard. Nothing is sacrificed.
