| Tablet functions on laptop Sorry for the duplicate post, I accidently posted in MediaCenter originally. I am trying to explore the functions of a tablet pc. I also want to explore the full productivity of PlanPlus by Franklin Covey before I run out and by a tablet PC. I have a laptop and just bought WACOM drawing tablet. I have XP Home Addition SP2. Can I download a plug in or convert to XP for Tablet on my laptop to experience handwriting recognition and data input procedure to determine if a tablet is truly a functional tool? |

| Re: Tablet functions on laptop No, sorry but the Tablet PC Edition 2005 is a superset which was available with the Windows XP Pro SP2 operating system only, pre-installed by manufacturers. The new Vista operating system (most versions) includes both Media Center Edition and Tablet PC bits so you if have the hardware available, it will install automatically. -- Chris H. | Re: Tablet functions on laptop Actually, the software (Tablet and Media Center bits) will install whether or not you have the hardware (in both Tablet and Media Center cases). Obviously, not having the hardware will have impact on how you use (or not use) some of those components. -- Jason Tsang - Microsoft MVP Read my blog for the latest in Media Center topics (and other topics that interest me) http://jtsang.blogspot.com More information by me http://jtsang.mvps.org http://www.classicsunveiled.com Find out about the MS MVP Program - http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx "Chris H" <VistaMobilePC********.com> wrote in message news:38B0C3E5-4BFF-494B-8769-9EE82C123034@microsoft.com... > No, sorry but the Tablet PC Edition 2005 is a superset which was available > with the Windows XP Pro SP2 operating system only, pre-installed by > manufacturers. | Re: Tablet functions on laptop If you have any knowledge of developing, the Tablet PC SDK will give you the Tablet experience on a graphics tablet.
