Problem with saving files to CD

I apologize for this elementary question but I am stumped as to what I am doing wrong. I am using an ACER Travelmate C300 with Tablet PC XP. I have searched the computer help and followed all the instructions multiple times. I have searched the internet with no luck. My problem is that I cannot figure out how to save files to a CD. Going to My Computer and trying to copy or drag the files does not work. It won't put them in a folder for later burrning. I can't ever make it to the wizard to complete the process. I can’t figure out how to format the CD so I can try it that way. I can’t find any way to send any file to the CD. There is no CD burning software on the PC. I downloaded a copy of some free programs from cnet.com and they don’t work either. I can install programs from the CD drive and I can access any files on the drive but I can’t copy files to the drive. Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: Problem with saving files to CD

Are you sure that you have a drive which is bale to *burn* CDs?
Which type drive is it? Which manufacturer and model?
