Sorry, I can not follow you :-( :-(

The *hard-drive* itself has nothing to do with the
TabletPC-functionality.

What the system does.and how it behaves simply is a question of the
*Operating System" (OS)
You have to install the proper OS (most possibly "XP TabletPC
Edition").

Re: touchscreen drive?

If you changed out the hard drive on your Tablet PC, you need to use the
recovery disk(s) furnished by the manufacturer of the Tablet.

Re: touchscreen drive?

Putting Windows XP on a Tablet PC won't give you the tablet functionality.
You need to install Windows XP Tablet PC Edition.

As Chris said, you need to use the recovery disk that came with the Tablet.
It's also possible that the Tablet came with a recovery partition on the
original disk. If that's the case, contact tech support for your Tablet's
manufacturer to see if they'll provide you with a recovery CD. There will
probably be a charge if they're willing to send you one.

NOT with the "Normal" XP.

A TabletPC needs additional software which is *not* included in
"normal" XP.

You would need "XP TabletPC Edition" which is not sold *seperately*.

You simply have to
(a) Either get the original CDs delivered with your computer,

OR

(b) ask the computer's manufacturer for the proper CDs.

AFAICS there's no way around that.

Re: touchscreen drive?

AFAICS, Chris posted over an hour before your response, and your other
response is pretty much the same as I'd already responded to the original
poster. Thanks for your verification.

Pardon me? I certainly have been. And why are you responding to these
posts, hours and even days after they've been properly addressed?

We do not go for races.
But:
In this very case *my* reply is dated "2:52".
Chris replied a bit later at "3:20"
<gbg>

Maybe that *your* reply was almost the same as mine.
I'd simply love to be duplicated in what I said ;-) ;-)

But let's keep to not putting things upside down:
You are simply WRONG:
You first came at 04:03.
My posting is dated O2:52

Right!

But: In the case given "not yet".
You, Chris, replied on 03:20.
I had been a bit "quicker" and had replied on 02:52 already.

Hours? Days?
Nothing but tonight.

Seems that you might be a bit off reality.

Rainald

Re: touchscreen drive?

I'm copying the times from the three referenced posts. Not saying which it
correct is as the servers could have issues, but that doesn't make either of
us wrong.

What I'm seeing is what I reported - that Chris posted an hour before you
did. I doubt that I could foresee what Chris would post.

Obviously, from your post, what you're seeing is something different. I'm
finished with it.

As an option to the other mentioned methods you can consider trying
Vista, if it supports your hardware. This should give you pen
functionality back as well.
