Motion Computing (LE1600) sparking? Battery life very very short?

Any one else had this issue?

I'm assuming maybe we have bad batteries, but its happening on a few
of these.

Thanks

Have you brought the issue up to Motion Computing's support section? They
may have a solution or recommendations.

How short is the battery life? Are you using the word "sparking" as a
possible explanation, or have you actually seen a spark?

Some people are reporting it shows 76% battery power, but the unit
turns off before warning the user (usually in less than 20 minutes)
(it goes black). I think in one case the unit was even plugged in. I
had one user report a spark when plugging it into the wall, I'm not
sure if it was at the outlet or the battery area (I'm guessing just
static though).

I will have to contact their support to be safe though.

When I switch to a second battery on my LS800 sometimes it reads about 3/4
charged, but charging and discharging get it back to the normal 0 - 100%
reporting.
