| Tablet PC Input Panel Our Physicians are using the Motion M1400 Tablet PCs in our ERs. The nature of this environment is very vunerable to internet mishaps, so the tablets, and other workstations in this area, are highly managed. The problem I am having is that I cannot figure out how to give the user a shortcut to the TIP. We are using the FlexDocks and docking gives you a keyboard within 1 second but for quick notes, the Physician needs to be able to occoationally freehand the note. The main application they run is over a Citrix Session and the tablet is not recognizing the text boxs in this application as a text field. This does work for local applications but not in the terminal/citrix applications. Additionally, my GPOs somehow remove the toolbar containing the link to launch the TIP. I'm all about removing the GPOs or adding another OU for Tablets but I am at a loss as to where to turn from here. Thanks for any help you may be able to offer. Bart Perrier |

| Re: Tablet PC Input Panel Hi, Bart, If you don't need the notes to go directly to the Server or to a specific file, then you might want to take a look at the Experience Pack's Ink Desktop. It allows a fast note directly on the desktop of the Tablet. I have a feeling that isn't what you're asking, but thought I'd toss it out. -- Terri Stratton Editor / Owner http://thetabletpc.net http://themediacenterpc.net Microsoft Featured Communities Microsoft Windows MVP - Tablet PC "Bart Perrier" <bart_perrier********.com> wrote in message news:eg7HPTdnFHA.2916@TK2MSFTNGP14.phx.gbl... > Our Physicians are using the Motion M1400 Tablet PCs in our ERs. | Re: Tablet PC Input Panel Bart, I've bumped this over to the Tablet Team at Microsoft for more details about what you need to do. As I recall, there are some basic inconsistencies with Citrix itself and a multitude of things addressed through Microsoft's Knowledge Base articles: http://support.microsoft.com/search/...2&ast=3&mode=a However, the basic question of GPO and lock-down of the TIP for users is a solution I've asked about. | Re: Tablet PC Input Panel I did find the GPO that was removing the Custom Toolbar; it is now available but in a different location. The GPO was (here comes the Mack truck) Users-Admin Templates-Start Menu and Taskbar - Do not display any custom toolbars. I will leave this post marked incase you have an update. | Re: Tablet PC Input Panel So, if I read your original post correctly, you'll be able to move Tablets into an OU where you can NOT push down this GPO, correct? | Re: Tablet PC Input Panel That is exactly right. For now we have disabled this Policy for the whole OU but that can of course open up other Custom Toolbars which could in turn encourage random acts of clicking the Install Now button (aka Yes Button for Security Warnings).
