| Pls Help - Fujitsu ST4110 with Vista - Video Playback problem on W Dear all, I just spent the whole weekend installing (4 times) Windows Vista Home Premium on my Fujitsu Stylistic ST4110. Straight out of the installation, the native video drivers had this problem: - Playback of any video MPG or WMV was choppy and jerky on WMP11 but Audio was smooth. - Screen cannot Rotate. I tried installing the latest Win XP Graphic Card Drivers and most everything work. The only problem I had was: - Now WMP11 cannot play any video (get a blank video screen) but the audio continues in the background. Tried MPG, AVI, WMV... all can't. When I tried using VLC player, there was no problem and playback was smooth with audio. I suspect this might be a problem with the video driver. It won't playback either on Windows Media Centre. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix the video playback problem in WMP11? Thank you. |

| Re: Pls Help - Fujitsu ST4110 with Vista - Video Playback problem on W I'd check Fujitsu's web site for the latest graphics drivers - Vista enabled - if they're supporting Vista on the ST4110, along with rotational drivers. As to the Windows Media Player 11 issues, you might want to report those in the microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player newsgroup where WMP 11 is supported. -- Chris H. | RE: Pls Help - Fujitsu ST4110 with Vista - Video Playback problem on W I spent about two weeks getting Vista 32-bit working on my Fujistu Lifebook 4020. Mine was difficult because Fujitsu does not support Vista on that PC. Larned a few things that may be useful to you ... The 4020 has the Intel 915 chipset. Downloaded Vista drivers from Intel. If your PC usess the 945 chipset, you're in luck. Intel has new drivers for them, and it supports Aero. Fujitsu-Siemens and Fujitsu Singapore have both posted Vista drivers for several laptops. The standard Fujitsu support site also has drivers. You will need the ACPI driver, the Fujitsu Button drivers, and the Button Utility -- all Vista versions. Once you install those, you'll screen auto-rotation should work again. | RE: Pls Help - Fujitsu ST4110 with Vista - Video Playback problem Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately, here's still no Vista drivers for the Fujitsu ST4110 especially for my graphic card Intel 82830M. I haven't tried the drivers from the Intel site yet. Now a strange new problem has occurred.... previously, my screen could rotate using the button and changing the orientation in the TabletPC settings. Now, the screen rotation won't work. I get an error message. Please adjust your Display Settings and Try again. Am thinking of reinstalling... sigh. | RE: Pls Help - Fujitsu ST4110 with Vista - Video Playback problem Bill: I am somewhat hopeful with your post. Where did you get the button drivers for your 4020 and the button utility? I think I tried installing a ACPI driver and got the blue screen of death crash....dont want to have to do that again. Anyway, glad to see someone has made some progress. I just installed the latest Intel 915 driver so thats made an improvement. Would love to get my screen to auto-rotate, it wont right now. Best wishes, Andrew "Bill" wrote: > I spent about two weeks getting Vista 32-bit working on my Fujistu Lifebook > 4020.
