Math markup

Hello,
Are there any engineers or mathematicians who use their tablet PC for taking
notes? I would like to use my tablet to write equations in my notes.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Equation Writer only exports formulas
to images, not to MathType, TeX, or MathML. Is there any other good software
out there? I don't need something as fancy as MathJournal, since that does a
lot of other stuff too (plotting, symbolic math), and I'm aware that optical
formula recognition is really hard, but it would be nice if there were some
way to make things easier than typing TeX and MathType markup.
Thanks!
GB

RE: Math markup

Hi,

I am also looking for similar information. Could any one in Microsoft please
clarify if in future it will support any export format other than just bitmap
for math handwriting? Will Microsoft add this recognizer to the TabletPC SDK
like the standard handwriting, gesture, and layout recognizers?

Thanks

Re: Math markup

Microsoft never discusses future projects in the public, but you may want to
ask your SDK question in the programmers newsgroup:
microsoft.public.windows.tabletpc.developer where Stefen Wick of Microsoft
may be able to give you a response.

Re: Math markup

Thanks Chris! Yes, I realize Microsoft does not discuss future projects in
public. I was not meaning to pry but was just wondering if there was some
public or beta information from Microsoft about future releases of these
kinds of tools that I might have missed. I guess there is no such
information. Thanks also for the hint about the other newsgroup.

Re: Math markup

Garrett already posted that MathJournal is too fancy, with too many other
things.
