| M275 pen working in safe mode, but not when TabPC starts normally Ongoing issue where pen working only in safe mode, but not when Windows Tablet PC 2005 starts normally. Originally read to delete "tablet.dat" file but the search function could not find it. Upgraded wacom drivers as of 6/22. Still having same issue. Tried to restore back to the latest point with no success. Updated all Win drivers and updates. Updated all Gateway drivers and bios files. Suggestions? |

| Re: M275 pen working in safe mode, but not when TabPC starts normally In exactly what position is the pen not working, Shane? Is it when in Dock mode, Undock or both. And what is "not working" about it? Are you able to write in the Tablet Input Panel, but it won't insert text for you? If that's the issue, go into Control Panel/Regional and Language Options and to the Languages tab. Tap the Details button, then go to the Advanced tab, and make sure there's a check mark in the box left of "Extend support of advanced services to all programs." Otherwise, please post back with full details, including whether or not you're running Windows XP Service Pack 2 and the Tablet PC Edition 2005. BTW - Just out of curiosity, who and where were you advised to remove this alleged "tablet.dat" file? -- Chris H. | Re: M275 pen working in safe mode, but not when TabPC starts norma Hi Chris: Position: Any. It's usually not docked. Not working: unable to move cursor, write, etc... when placing pen on screen or hovering over screen TIP: unable to write in panel Language control panel: already set to extend settings. OS: XP SP2, Tablet PC 2005 Basically the screen/digitizer does not even recognize the stylus when in normal mode. I can control the cursor, etc.. with the stylus in safe mode. Wacom site referenced removing tablet.dat file as it may be corrupt. Apparently the system will rebuild the file on restart. | Re: M275 pen working in safe mode, but not when TabPC starts norma Thanks, Shane. We can try this: Go to the Command Prompt (not Start/Run) and enter "regsvr32 inkobj.dll" without the quotation marks, then Enter and then "regsvr32 tpcps.dll" (without quotes) then Enter again. Restart your machine after finishing each of those two modifications to the Registry. If either of the attempts results in a "file not found" type message, navigate to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Ink directory and verify those files exist at that location, then try the regsvr32 command again, within that very directly. -- Chris H.
