| Using eraser on stylus? Hi, I have a Stylistic tablet pc from Siemens and there I have a stylus with two buttons. I had the possibility to configure these buttons; I always configured the one to be the right mouse click and the other to be the eraser. Then I reinstalled my system and installed all software I found on the CD- Roms but I simply cannot find the dialog where I can configure the stylus so that I can use the second button as eraser again. Can anybody give me a hint how to find it? Thanks Markus |

| Re: Using eraser on stylus? The settings for the buttons should be in Control Panel/Tablet and Pen Settings, or, if special drivers are installed by the OEM (check their web site and the user's guide) it might even be off the Start/All Programs menu area as a separate entry under the manufacturer's name. -- Chris H. Actually, after installing the newest Tablet PC drivers from Wacom http://www.wacom.com/tabletpc/driver.cfm (if this stylistic does use a Wacom digitizer...) then the pen button mappings (eraser, left-, right-, etc click) are in "Tablet Properties" of the Control Panel, rather than Tablet and Pen Settings. - Jan |

If double click is not enabled there, it just clicks, despite a Wacom double-click setting. OTOH all other settings like 'pressure hold' etc for art work are not overridden by XP. However, the setting if sideswitch+tip or just sideswitch is used to start the action (double click, for example) is in the Wacom applet, not XP's own applet, and for enabled double-click is not overriden by XP. Confuuusing... :-)) - Jan |

Thanks a lot! This is a good workaround. This isn't what I searched for, but it works... Now I've written Fujitsu Siemens, I hope I get an answer; maybe there's one driver that's not available on their homepage?! M. |

| Re: Using eraser on stylus? You're making good progress now. You may need to dig a bit, but I'm pretty sure most Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) supply either the original drivers or the updates thereto on their web sites. If you can't find them, I would contact the support section and see what they have to say. They may be able to guide you to pulling them off the repair/replacement CD/DVD if they're not available for download. You might note that in certain cases, like the Wacom driver, their web site will probably be more current than the OEM site. Note also that if your system uses the Nvidia graphics drivers, those will come from the OEM and not Nvidia. Each graphics driver is modified by the Tablet OEM for their own system, so a driver from Nvidia will not install at all. In fact, you'll probably get a warning message if you try. Which driver is it you're still trying to locate? Keep in mind not all programs (or even the Tablet Input Panel) may support the eraser on a pen. The TIP only uses the "scratch-out" method, while some programs only "erase" by tapping a little eraser icon on the specific program toolbar. Rather confusing, and I wish it were all uniform, but it isn't. -- Chris H.
