Portege 3500 Lemon!!??

I have a Portege 3500 that I do not use frequently. I have had it
serviced by Toshibea 2 times for a "dead" spot on the screen, or more
commonly known as a defective digitizer. When they fix it, it will be
o.k. for a while, then the same problem will re occur. Question, when
can I call this machine a lemon and demand a replacement, or am I
stuck with this issue. Comments and or suggestions would be
apprecitated.

I don't know a firm answer, but would suggest you contact Toshiba support
and elevate your issue beyond the first line of tech. Ask to speak to a
supervisor, and make sure to get the names of people to talk with plus
noting the date and time.

Re: Portege 3500 Lemon!!??

I had a problem with an HP tablet (after 1 year of use on a 3-year warranty
unit). After the third time, I told the tech support person that I didn't
want to send it back to be fixed, that I wanted a new unit. That's all I
had to do. They were very accommodating and sent a new unit free of charge.
HP/Compaq really was very good throughout the process. In fact, it's my
experience with their tech support that makes me want to stay with HP.

Apparently, it's the third time for the same issue within a specified time
frame that they do this.
