New Input Panel vs. Old In the Input Panel version 1.0, you could transfer your handwritting as "ink" to the document, i.e. capture your signature and put it in a document as an image. I cannot find a way to do this with the newest version of the Input Panel. Does anyone know how to do that?

Re: New Input Panel vs. Old What program are you attempting to enter Ink into? It has been a while, but I don't recall direct ink from the Input Panel. Maybe you're thinking about the old Write Anywhere screen? Have you looked at the Experience Pack for Tablet PC now available for free download: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en -- http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/e...ts/nichol.mspx In memory of a true friend, Windows MVP Alex Nichol Chris H. Actually the new TIP can't do that anyway, AFAIK. In Office 2003 it's "View => Toolbars => Free hand drawings and text" (or roughly similar, since I translated that from a german version of Office 2003...) This will show a toolbar with inking tools, just select the pen there and you can draw/ink into the document. In other applications, you may be able to use something similar to Insert => Object => Ink Drawing and Writing. This will insert a field into which you can ink. I'm not sure how well such documents will view on non-tablet PCs, though. regards, - Jan

RE: New Input Panel vs. Old I think a write everywhere feature would have been better, but with a pad line overlay over the top of where you are writing so you wright on a straight line would have been a better solution than the new tablet input panel. There are wuite a few faults in handwriting recognition, mostly with formatting and the absence of recognition training (which will be included in Longhorn)...
