Re: slowed pc once installed tablet pc edition 2005

Check your system for spyware and viruses (once a week)... Then also run a
disk cleanup and defrag(once or twice a month). Run a DiskCheck also (twice
a year)... just in case.
This is simple to do and gennerally speads up your computer. I recommend
only two spyware removal tools and one virus tool.
Ad-aware
Spybot S&D
Do not be fooled by competitors that have spyware with their own tool... or
cost you anything, these are free.
www.free-av.com
for antivirus, it's free! and updated almost daily... (But I recommend
turning off the AVGaurd... this'll slow your system down)
I'm sure there are other free tools, but these I know work well to clean
your system, I use them, and have no problems!
PS. I get paid to do what I just told you to do. So doing it yourself can
save you a headache in the future.

Since you started with Windows XP Home edition, you obviously don't have
a tablet PC so why did you install tablet PC on it in the first place?
Additionaly, TabletPC is only licensed to OEMs or through an MSDN
subscription (and then only for testing or development) so you more than
likely don't have a proper license for the OS.
Wipe the PC and start over again with XP Home, you don't need TabletPC.

Mostly good advice, however, unfortunately it does not have anything to
do with the OP's question. If the OP started with XP Home, he doesn't
have a Tablet.

Re: slowed pc once installed tablet pc edition 2005

I'd keep that "friend" away from your computer in the future. Use the
original CD or DVD that came with your computer to get back to being a
Windows XP Home Edition system again. The Tablet PC Edition, wherever it
came from, doesn't belong on your hardware at all, and that's why it is
running so poorly.

There are only two ways to legally obtain the Windows XP Pro/Tablet PC
Edition setup, and those are on a Tablet PC or via an MSDN subscription for
development purposes only. I have a feeling you're not too interested in
having some possibly stolen software on your computer.
